Every year, all of us propose a discard of habits to achieve a new one, but how long is that motivation? Have you noticed how long this initiative lasts? In general, we abandoned that decision much earlier than expected. And since we know that there is probably some habit that you want to acquire, we have brought you an excellent plan of action to cultivate good habits so that from now on you can become that person you want to be:

1. Choose a simple habit:

To start, choose one you want to acquire. Try not to cover many activities in it, write it down so that it is easier to maintain it and do not deviate from the main thing since you are initiating on the subject.

For example: Maya wants to acquire the habit of walking to work in the mornings instead of taking the bus.

Effectively completing the habit allows you to avoid excuses of the type: “well when I said I wanted to do sports, I also referred to physical activities such as making a bed”

2. Make public statements:

By this we mean that you tell the people closest to you to know about the new habits you want to have so that later you can tell them to press you and achieve your new goal that Tango wishes to fulfill. Example: What Maya wants to do is tell her friend to remind her to walk to work. It would also be better to put the following in your social networks: “I have decided to walk to work, if you step on the street and you come across me, congratulate me that I will be waiting for you!”

It is important to highlight if you make the public statement and your friends support you, the motivation to realize this new habit would increase so much that it will already be part of your day so that you have already cultivated that new habit that you planned.

3. Book it well in your agenda:

As it is a specific and temporary habit, be sure to book it well in your agenda. Example: Maya has used her telephone so that every morning she sounds and reminds her that she has to perform that task.

For those who use diaries frequently, we sometimes downplay most of the annotations that are not written, make sure your habit is a priority activity.

4. Make preparations:

Prepare what you will need so that you can optimally achieve your new habit. Example: Maya has just set the alarm clock to sound half an hour earlier than usual. And that’s what he’s going to do.

Once you have everything you need, you will not need any material.

5. Recognize your progress:

Even if you do not believe it, dogs are rewarded for doing a good job, because you should also do it to reward your perseverance and your progress. Decide how to do it, make sure it is a means of satisfaction that helps you to motivate yourself and return to realize that new habit that you have wanted to cultivate. Example: Maya has had a fun idea. Each day that he goes to work, he will take a photograph of something curious that is found and upload it to his social networks and indicate his proof of daily achievement. Also, going 50 days to work on foot, you will be given a super relaxing massage that you will pay with the money you save from the bus.

If you follow these 5 great steps, maintaining your habit will not only be much simpler, it will also be much more exciting and rewarding.
